The NY Philharmonic is doing an all-Dvorak program, including the Cello Concerto with Lynn Harrell(!) as the soloist. Anyone else interested?

Not to be missed. For anyone who has never been, these free Concerts in the Park are quite awesome. Easily one of the best free events NY offers. And Dvorak rocks! Symphony #9 that they'll be playing (The New World) captures Dvorak's sense of America and it has a intensity to it that exemplifies the very best of classical music.

Makes a great date. Blanket, wine (plastic cups), cheese & crackers and you're good to go. Don't miss it!

This is also a great opportunity to hear Lynn Harrell (one of the best cellists in the world).

I am trying to get a group together for this event. If any Lunch Clubbers would like to join us, we are meeting on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (1000 5th Ave.) at 6 pm. (Concert starts at 8.) If you come later and want to find us on the Great Lawn, my cell number is (917) 680-0656.

Is the concert on the Great Lawn? What is a good time to arrive if the concert starts at 8pm? I won't be able to make it to meet at the Met at 6pm, but could probably be to the park by 7pm - just need to know where to go! Thanks for posting this - I am really excited!
