Hi,

I am trying to change careers and am highly interested in medical or science writing but come for non-traditional background (i.e., science background, but not much writing).

I was hoping to find either freelance or individuals that work or have worked for companies as a science or medical writer. Basically, I would like to ask questions to learn more about the field, how others have entered the field, etc.

Oh yeah - even someone in the field of publishing may be helpful. I really have no idea as to the types of jobs, what background is needed, where a person starts, etc.

I would gladly pay for coffee and hopefully embark on a session of 'Let me pick your brain'

Feel free to email me (or post here). Thanks,

Susan

The pharmaceutical companies all employ medical writers for FDA filings, business materials, etc. If you have some writing, even academic, I think you will qualify. Then there are agencies who do this. Try www.bio.com (http://www.bio.com) and look for career info.
