I thought maybe LunchClub associates could let each other know what book they read for the month. I must confess I only treat myself to a non-fiction book every 6 months, just to invigorate the imagination or let myself take a vacation from world events.
I avidly read a business, biography, social/psychology or history book a week, because it is my required reading to enable me to proliferate my business and help other people I meet every day. Books enable to me to take a back seat to my own goals and focus, to allow me to help people I meet in achieving their own level of Success.
Anyway . . . What did you read this Month? Enquiring minds want to know?
Wazzup with "The Divinci Code", if anyone has read it?
I hear people in book stores talking about it over the last month or so.

Hi. Apparently, The DaVinci Code is a major must read. If it wasn't for my serious lack of funds, I would go out and get it just to find out what everybody is talking about. As it is, I'm on a really long waiting list at my local library. It's amazing how this book is spreading by word of mouth, it doesn't happen with too many books. If anybody else read it, I would love to hear your opinion on The DaVinci Code and it's prequel Angels and Demons.
As for my current reading materials, I've been reading the Aubrey/Maturin Series by Patrick O'Brian (for those who don't know, its the series of books that the movie Master and Commander is based on). The books are great ... after reading the first three in the series, I came to the conclusion that even though the movie was good, it didn't do much justice to the books. They are a great read if you don't want anything heavy, it's been a great counterbalance for the heavier classic novels I have to read for school.

Thanx for the feedback Anne.
I'm overdue for a novel read. So I'll check out the series of books you recommended. I'll probably only get to read one, but one is a good start for a little relaxing reading.

I just finished Big Fish (yes, the one the movie was based on). It was a Christmas gift and not a bad read. Very metaphorical if you really pay attention.
I just started ready Songbook by Nick Hornsby. I'm a big fan of High Fidelity and About a Boy, so I grabbed that one last time I was at the bookstore.
Songbook is different-the author takes 31 of his favorite songs and writes a little chapter about each. I'm enjoying it so far, although I'm not familiar with all the songs.
I think I may look into the O'Brian books. I kind of like reading "books with sequels" where the stories/characters develop more and more from book to book.
At Selena's (itslinky is her username here, I think) I'm holding off on DaVinci Code till the summer.

Robert Kyiosaki is brillant. I loved the inspiring tory he told and his way of explaining finances. I have a friend that's been trying to get me to play the "Cash Flow Quadrant" game Robert has available. He bought it for his kids and he says they love it. It seems to be an excellent tool for teaching kids and adults how to make money make money for you.

I'm only about 20 pages into it and I'm already digging it. I'll I'm traveling quite a bit this week. So I'll have much "dead time" that will allow me to do a decent amount of reading. I'll give everyone some feed back when I finish it.

A FREE copy of "Think and Grow Rich" is available to any Lunch Clubber who takes advantage of The Lunch Club's Career Coaching Services (http://thelunchclub.net/clubhouse/lc_show.php?page=careercoaching).
This book is an excellent Reference, I've read a couple of
hundred times. It helps re-engineer thinking in a very positive way that will inspire and encourage people to accomplish anything they want to achieve in life. It will not only change your life, but it dispells the unwritten rules society has programmed in us for getting ahead. Reading this book has changed my life in so many different ways.
5/95 unwritten society rule says 5% of the world population own 95% of the wealth. Most of them have achieved that wealth using some or all the techniques described in this book.
Any one who has previously had a resume done through the Lunch Club or previously used any other Career Coaching services is also entitled to a FREE copy of "Think and Grow Rich". Just shoot me a Note.
*If you refer someone who uses the Lunch Club's Career Coaching Services (http://thelunchclub.net/clubhouse/lc_show.php?page=careercoaching), you can get a FREE copy as well.*
