With the Yankees aquisition of A.Rod I can honestly say that there has been an increase of Yankees "fans" coming these days. I'm beginning to feel like the only Die Hard Mets fan left in New York... Will I be alone at Shea on April 12th?? Hmmmm, that'll suck!

used to be a crazy mets fan. then moved away from NYC, stopped watchin alot of baseball, and did something i had always sworn was impossible:
Following both the Mets AND the Yanks
think i just missed nyc to the point where i actually started watching yankee games. the point is: i WILL be at Shea this season. After all... i can walk there in 20 minutes or less.

Yes, having to ride out the surge of Gene Michael and the Yankee organization's success in player development in the early 90's has been tough, but its coming to an end quickly. I think much more quickly than a lot of people realize. Dynasties can last a long time, but when they fall, they often fall hard.
I've been a die-hard Mets fan since 1989, although my interest in the team started with the WS in '86. I've heard all the taunts and really couldn't give one flying fu(k! The Mets have been THE most intriguing and exciting team in New York over the last 42 years, and there's no reason why the fun won't continue. Much to the chagrin and frustration of George and other Yankee yahoos, the Yankees could win the world series every year and not be able to muster one thumbnail of the passion the Mets have played out over vaious times in their history. The Mets have always captured the city's love and admiration every time they succeed, a level that no amount of money could elevate the well-oiled machine in the Bronx to ever.
I've been trying to get a baseball lovers lunch or dinner together, and maybe we could share our interest in the AMAZIN Mets!
