JARED, I WILL TRY AND GET UP TO THE CAFE SO EVERYONE CAN FILL OUT A WAIVER BEFORE THEY ARRIVE AT THE DOCK. I THINK IT WILL MAKE THINGS MUCH EASIER WHEN THE GROUP ARRIVES. THE WEATHER SO FAR IS LOOKING GOOD. SEE YOU ON SATURDAY, BOBSaturday: Brunch & Kayaking on the Hudson! (8/19) UPDATED

Well, I think it would be a good idea for us to meet at the Boat Basin Cafe - it's not too hard to find. 79th street, right on the hudson. I need to get there a little early to secure seating for us :-)

To spare you guys the very very small chance of wandering around aimlessly (and frustratingly!) like I did when I tried to find this place the first time, I think the easiest way in is to walk west on the north side of 79th past the entrance to the West Side Highway then under an overpass. You'll see a path that goes down to the Boat Basin, maybe even a sign and twinkly lights!

Looking forward to seeing you all!

Jodi

Hey all - looks like we're developing a big crowd for the Brunch & Kayaking thing. That's awesome - can't wait! I just want to warn everyone that we might not all be able to go kayaking at the same time, and that the downtown boat house is open to the public, so we might have to contend with other people too :-) But no worries - Robert Hartling is hooking us up - but we just need to be prepared to rotate the kayaks so everyone gets a chance to paddle, and also be realistic about the possibility that we might wait a little while. But we'll all hang out, have a great time chillin' with each other, and it will all work out. Looking forward to it!

I would like to attend this event. Can you please let me know if someone can't make it or if any extra spots open up?

Thanks.

Hey again guys - maybe it's a good idea to bring some blankets or stuff to sit on so people can chill on the grass nearby while waiting their turn to Kayak. If you have hackey sacks or frisbees, or whatever, feel free to bring those too. Are hackey sacks out of date? I am so damn old. Anyway, just be prepared to have downtime between the kayaking sessions :-) But no worries, cuz we'll have each other!

Also - the event is still open. Anyone who wants to come, can come. We already have a big group, so as long as we're aware that we might have to wait/share kayaks, it's all good. Come along!
