A couple of people here have expressed interest in going to the Copacabana for Salsa.
I am planning on going to the Copa this Friday March 12. If anyone is interested, let me know. Doors open at 10 pm.

Hmmm...decisions, decisions. I got another offer today from another club that I'm a member of. That was to get salsa lessons first before going to SOB's. Now, I have to decide :) Of course the Copa is closer considering I'm coming in from Jersey. Decisions, decisions :)

hi saw this message really late.. am interested in salsa.. looking fr a male partner, and yes am not a great dancer:)
I love dancing...Salsa, Regaee, FreeStyle. This website is a great way to announce future events.
The Copa (Tuesdays or Wednesdays) has an early Salsa event whereby they teach you some Salsa in the first part of the session for free. They also have a free Buffet!! Worth checking out
On Mondays at SOB's Salsa Free dance lesson. The music on time, great mix. If you get there before 7pm it's free. After 7pm it's around 12 bucks. If you want to sit at a table the minimun is 10 bucks on drinks.

So great to read about all these people interested in salsa!
The lunch club is going to the Copa next week for El Gran Combo . . . They're awesome! To prepare everyone, I'll be teaching a private dance lesson, just for lunch clubbers. You'll get a lot of attention and actually learn something (which can be difficult to do in the free lessons the clubs offer). It will also be a great way to get everyone aquainted and make sure we have dance buddies before we hit the wild Copa floor. (Check out the details on the calendar.)
A little background info . . . I love teaching beginners because it's all about sharing the dance and enjoying the music. I've performed w/various groups and have taught salsa at several Manhattan locations: Stepping Out; Hop, Swing & A Jump; Barnard College; Columbia U; and McBurney YMCA.
Hope to see you on the dance floor! --Yenneca
any new dance gatherings in the plans?
