Where's a good coffee shop spot?

Hello coffee lovers! Back in San Diego, I used to hang out at this nice coffee shop where there's open mic or local bands playing every other week. Do you know any place that have the same feeling here? I tried going to the Village, but so far no luck. I'll take any suggestions!

2nd Ave @ St. Marks in the east village

(it is on the second floor with a great view of the east village)
