international development help???

was just wondering if there was anyone who had any advice or help for me to get back into international development, working with an NGO or charity. have four years overseas and a masters in Theatre for Development but no doors are opening.

I can't really help except to share my experience. I moved back here last year after ten years overseas and started looking for jobs where I could utilize my international experience! (5 years in Hong Kong and 5 years in Australia in pretty senior Marketing/Business Development roles) I sent out tons of resumes for anything Internationally related but I kept getting no responses. Finally I spoke with a recruiter and he said that although I had 10 years of international experience I didn't have International experience in New York!! I got that feedback from a couple of others as well!


I have yet to work out that logic but have moved on and got a job in another area. If you hear anything about how you can use REAL International Experience let me know!!!
