Hi All,

I've been on the lookout for a good positive thinking seminar. Has anybody been to one lately? Zig Ziglar and Wayne Dyer are some of my favorites, but if you've heard a good speaker lately (who's not a "self-helper" but is reputable and solid all around), I'd be interested in checking it out.

Thanks,
Russ

Not positive thinking per se, yet you may want to check out Jim Rohn. Many of these other speakers look up to him as a sort of mentor of theirs.

I'm not a big fan of any of these types, but I do appreciate Rohn's emphasis on taking action, as I believe, at the end of the day, one can have the worst attitude in the world and yet with taking the right actions, accomplish great things.

Self Deception, Get Out Of The Box, by Arbinger press.

The idea is that many of us deceive ourselves regularly. If you do or act in a way that contradicts what you honestly believe you deceive yourself and that creates stress and a sort of "false reality" based on the lie you told yourself. This book explains how we do this and how to avoid it in order to live more honestly. I thought it was a good message.

Anyone interested in learning how to become truly successful, and how they can be the true architect of their lives should watch or read "The Secret". It's about more than just positive thinking- becoming the architect of your life, shaping and building it exactly how you want it to be.

I don't entirely agree with some of the premises of "The Secret". However if you want to hear something about positive thinking, there 's a church that sometimes has good sermons. Check out www.marblechurch.org for more information and the summer schedule. That place is where positive thinking was founded by Norman Vincent Peale.
