I'm not sure if you received my e~mail Jared, but it would be honor for me to be a speaker at one of the future Entrpreneurs gatherings. I have topics or would be open to a topic you think people would be interested in, to develop their businesses.
Saturday, March 6th! Details coming soon!

Hello,
I would also be interested in participating in a open discussion on entrepreneurship. I went on my own as well and I am open to providing insight into what I have done and learned thus far. My specializations seems to be leaning towards networking skills. I will continue to look at this site for updates on when the next group meets.

Yeah. watch out. I have been to a gazillion entrepreneur events. they have all blown. I hope yours was better.... but seriously... watch out for these things. they tend to turn into uber shleppy sales meetings.
(FURTHER DISCLAIMER: I have not been to an LC entrepreneur event)
So yeah. as I said, I have been to a bunch. see - the problem with e-events is the target audience: entrepreneurs. who are entrepreneurs? generally, people that have an idea or a product which they believe is economically feasible. Herein the problem lies. What is missing from that description?
Success! -- see -- thats the thing... to qualify for "entrepreneurship" -- you dont need to actually have anything proven, or to market... you just need passion. And unfortunaty, the passion sometimes lies in products or ideas that said entrepreneur believes is a commodidy (fkuc spelling) -- but the rest of the world has no interest in.
Real entrepreneurs are working at 2pm. working their asses off and growing something. Walk into a starbucks or a bar at 9pm on a thursday. wait. Look for the guy who just got there. that is your entrepreneur.
(Sorry, its been a tough week)

Sorry you had a rough week actionvance. Careful - That 9 to 5 thing can sometimes be a Killer. A good book to keep things in perspective is "Don't sweat the small stuff, Cause it's all small stuff". Don't let the job stress you - have fun and enjoy life.
I totally agree with you actionvance. People spend a lot of time trying to sell a widget that only the entreprenuer has an interest in, but is of no pratical use to other people. Passion is the key as you said. The other ingredient is finding a need, then filling the need many people have. Why reinvent the wheel?
Since the cave men, businesses that always do well are those that fulfill the 3 basic human needs - Food, Shelter and Clothing
Also businesses that sell peripheral products related to those 3 basic needs will do well. For example the person who owns a restaurant does well, but so does the person who sells toilet paper (don't mean to seem base). A Person who sells those fruity drinks does well, but so does the person who makes those foolish umbrellas or stirrers they stick in the drink.
The point is successful entreprenuers must combine their passion of doing what they love to do with providing a service or product that addresses a need people have. Making a widget and then trying to convince people they need it is insane.
